The LNM Institute of Information Technology (LNM-IIT) hosted its 10th annual convocation ceremony on October 15, 2022. The event kick started with the welcome note by the Director, Prof. S.S. Gokhale. Honourable Ms. Vanitha Narayanan, Managing Director & Regional Manager, IBM (India and South Asia) consented her chair as a chief guest of the event.
The event was further presided over by Mr. Prabh Das, Chairman Governing Council, LNM-IIT. The Institute conferred a total of 279 B.Tech, 19 M.Tech, 1 Ph.D degrees to the graduating students among which special recognition and medals were given to selected students including a Chairman’s Gold Medal to Ms. Ratika Garg, Director’s Gold Medal to Ms Nikita Vasudevan (UG) and Mr Javed Imran (PG) among others.
The Director in his speech briefed about the various developments of the Institute. He mentioned about the different industry tie-ups and the recent placement statistics. He also emphasised on the several scholarships programme ranging from BPL to Merit category. He then mentioned about the recent ranking and the much awaited NAAC accreditation and also told about the future plans for NBA of AICTE. Director then focussed on the fast-track programme initiative and said that “it has been contemplated and followed by other institute of national repute only now”. The director also stated about the latest commencement of the fully functional Alumni Association which will “help us in building our corpus or endowment fund that could be utilized for specific purposes” he added. The director encapsulated his note by, thanking the governing council in high hopes and also quoted about the recent effort to establish an Entrepreneurship Cell with the help of Rajasthan State Government.
The Director's speech was followed by the wise words of Mr. Prabh Das, Chairman Governing Council, who focussed on the ‘need for a holistic development’ for the generation to come and concluded in high hopes as he mentioned the fact of India's being the fastest paced economy in the world is a’ big-plus point’ he added.
Proceeding with the Ceremony, the Chief Guest Ms. Vanitha Narayanan was felicitated with a D. Litt degree by the Director. She then shared her life-long experience and learning with the students, especially mentioning about the scope of Digital World and its advantages. She further motivated students and asked them to "listen to their inner voice" which will lead them to an optimal "value-for-work"and “better brand building" she added. Further, stating about the current trend of Artificial Intelligence (or Cognitive Science), she said that it will "change the way you live".
Talking about her personal experiences she boosted students to "go beyond their limits and capabilities" and should always continue with their learning experiences in life. She finally encapsulated her note by wishing students "big-dream, big-hope, big-ambition" for their future.
The convocation ended with a Vote of Thanks by the Registrar Col. M.J.S Pathania, followed by the National Anthem sung by the students of the Institute.
