LinkedIn, the leading global professional network, said on Wednesday that it has penned an agreement with the HRD Ministry to provide more job options for Indian students.
According to the MoU, the 'Placements' product of LinkedIn will be implemented in all colleges across India that are affiliated to the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). LinkedIn released the information in Mumbai.
It also said that this 'Placements' product will provide jobs to students from all fields, irrespective of their location or college. They will be allowed to take an assessment test online, giving them access to a plethora of jobs openings in 35 of the top corporate companies in India.
The head of product and LinkedIn India Country Manager Akshay Kothari mentioned that they are looking forward to working with the Ministry as well as AICTE to provide students greater access to the 'Placements' product. He added that they want to bring aspirants closer to their dream jobs via this platform, providing access to plenty of career options.
The 'Placements' product was inducted in November 2015 and launched by LinkedIn in September 2022 to students across all colleges and universities in India. In less than two months, over two lakh students registered in 'Placements' and they received close to 1.2 million applications for jobs.
