Getting up early once a week, catching the Delhi Metro and reaching the click4college office – that is now a routine which can never tire me.

We meet at a prefixed time and wait for the slow ones to catch up, muttering under our breaths every time we have to enter our names in the register. And then there is the chit system we chose, to pick up an editor for the subsequent weeks. Even as some grumble about having to go through the whole cutting- down- write- ups- and- facing- flak- from- fellow- CJs, it is totally worth it when every Wednesday we rush off to pick up the newspaper at our doorsteps with our articles featured in the supplementary section. But if you think that is all there is to it, you could not be more wrong. Because nothing can beat sitting in those cubicles (with the other editors working on their pieces), editing your own piece, a steaming cup of coffee resting on the desk.

Rushing from the conference rooms to shooting sites and back again, all the while racking our brains trying to come up with a suitable topic for upcoming weeks, speeding away to the canteen every time the clock strikes 1, debating upon the admission process and the four year undergraduate program, coming up with the weirdest of catchphrases to tease the fellow journalists, boring the others with the zodiac obsession – that is how every single meeting of ours proceeds. And it ends with an ‘I was just recognized in some college by some student’ by few, while the others crib about how bad their luck has been in that department.

Even as our term as campus journalists draws towards an end, we take along a lifetime of experiences, memories and friendships and walk towards the new life beckoning us.
