LEAP for smaller cities : Making IIT/JEE accessible

The HRD ministry has been making a concerted effort to increase the number of skilled and competent engineers in India. As a result the intake of students in premium engineering colleges like IITs has gone up. Apart from augmenting the student strength at existing IITs, new IITs are also being set up, adding over 4000 news seats in IIT.

An interesting trend over the last 3-4 years has been the increase in the number of IITJEE applicants from Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns. A substantial number of students from smaller cities are clearing IITs. With some coaching institutes spreading their wings far and wide, using innovative technology solutions, students in smaller cities can now hope to study from the best teachers in the country. One such Initiative has been LEAP from Educomp Solutions.

LEAP is India’s first satellite based IITJEE program. With 11 centres in cities like Surat, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Guwahati etc, LEAP has been a pioneer in making India’s best teachers accessible to students of these towns. Through LEAP every single student irrespective of his geographical location, can have access to the same quality of coaching that any student from a big city has. Educomp will also tie up with over 3000 private schools in the country to make LEAP available to students of these schools. LEAP test prep centers will be set up inside school premises that will allow students to pursue an integrated IIT/JEE program that aims to combine the school curriculum with test prep courses.
