The last date for online registration for the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) 2014 entrance examination has been extended to 10th September, 2013.
CEED 2014 will be conducted by IIT Bombay on 1st December 2013.
About CEED
The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is an all India examination conducted by IIT Bombay, on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India that assesses a student’s aptitude for design, involving visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity, and communication skills.
CEED is the qualifying exam for the following post-graduate programmes in design:
(a) Masters of Design Programmes
IISc Bangalore: M.Des. in Product Design and Engineering*
IIT Bombay: M.Des. in (i) Industrial Design, (ii) Visual Communication, (iii) Animation, (iv) Interaction Design, (v) Mobility and Vehicle Design.
IIT Delhi: M.Des. in Industrial Design
IIT Guwahati: M.Des.in Design
IIT Kanpur: M.Des. in Industrial Design*
*GATE qualified candidates will also be considered for admission to these programmes.
(b) Ph.D Programmes in Design (From IISc Bangalore & IIT Bombay)
Eligibility for CEED 2014:
Candidates must either have completed or be expecting to complete any of the following, by July 2013:
(i) Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Architecture / Design/ Interior Design or equivalent
(ii) Professional Diploma in Design (NID/CEPT or equivalent of 4 years duration after 10+2)
(iii) B.F.A (Bachelors in Fine Arts - 4 year professional programme, after 10+2)
(iv) G.D. Art (Government Diploma in Art - a 5 year programme after 10th) with one year professional experience
(v) Master’s degree in Arts / Science / Computer Applications (i.e. M.A/ M.Sc/ MCA)
Please Note: Students with any degree in a three year Bachelor’s programme are not eligible.
There is no age limit and you can appear in CEED any number of times.

Examination Centres for CEED 2014:
You can appear for the online exam of CEED 2014 in any of the following cities: Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Kolkata, Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram.
What's new in CEED 2014?
1. The non-refundable application fee is Rs. 2000 for men of general and OBC category, and Rs. 1000 for SC/ST category, physically disabled (PD), and all women candidates.
2. CEED 2014 examination will be conducted on Sunday, 1st December 2013 from 09:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs. This is approximately one week later than last year.
3. The examination will consist of two parts, A and B. All candidates have to appear for both parts. Part A contains only multiple choice type questions, and will be conducted from 09:00 hrs to 10:00 hrs. Part B will start after that and will be held from 10:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs. Part B contains design and hand drawing type questions.
4. Part A is a screening test. Part B will be evaluated only for candidates who will be short listed in the screening test. Only Part-B score will be used for the merit list and qualified list for CEED 2014.
