Know Your College - Here's how!

I’m waiting for college to start. Now that it’s just a day away, you can safely assume that I’m going crazy with anticipation. It’s a cycle of excitement, anxiety, curiosity, super-excitement, nervousness, jumping-all-around excitement… and repeat. So what am I up to?

I’m busy trying to find out what college life is going to be like. And here’s how:

1.      Seniors

The best answers come from your seniors, perhaps alumni of your school, tuition, neighborhood or wherever. They give you firsthand experience, and you can get a repository of tips and must-know info.

2.      Facebook Graph

It’s unlikely you know seniors who are going to the same college as you. Sure, you probably have someone you know in Ramjas and you can get to know about KMC from them. But Facebook comes to your rescue should you want more! Friends of Friends will most probably lead you somewhere. And even if it’s not seniors, it can be others who are freshers and you can share your acquired intelligence with them and them with you…

3.      Facebook Pages

Every college has its own official or unofficial Facebook page. You get a lot of info from there. But what’s even better is the Facebook Confessions Pages! You can definitely get a feel of the college through these!! And it’s a great place to find seniors and e-stalk them.

4.      Websites

Websites where they keep posting stuff that will help freshers ease themselves. There’s our good old click4college of course. You will find more if you do a Facebook Search or a quick Google. A page called “DU Beat” is one such page. And of course, you can go to Wikipedia if you’re interested in the background info of your college, as well as the official college website.
