KEMT-2014 to be held from October 7-11, 2014

Karunya University is all set to conduct 22nd Karunya-Evangeline South India Level Inter-collegiate Tournament (KEMT-2014) from October 7 to 11, 2014.

 

Karunya Evangeline Memorial Tournament, an annual intercollegiate event, enriched  in 1990 involving colleges of Tamil Nadu. Later in accordance with its University status, Karunya has upgraded this tournament to South India level.  

 

Apart from the rolling trophies the Winners and Runners Up will receive cash prizes of Rs.15,000/-, and Rs.10000/- respectively.  Individual prizes and certificates will be given to teams who stand in the third and fourth places. Last date to apply for the tournament is September 20, 2014.

 

Staff, Students and Alumni of Karunya University will conduct the tournament in memory of the life of late Sister Evangeline, the only daughter of the Founder of Karunya University, Late Dr. D.G.S Dhinakaran and sister of Chancellor Dr. Paul Dhinakaran.

 

The best college & university teams from all over the Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka will battle it out for honours during the five day tourney.  All the matches, barring football & hockey will be played under floodlights.   The Volleyball, Kabaddi and Basketball events will be open to both men and women, while the football & hockey events will be exclusively for men. In addition, athletics will also be conducted.

 

The organizing committee comprising of Vice Chancellor & Tournament President Dr.S.Sundar Manoharan, Registrar & Tournament Chairman Dr. C. Joseph Kennady and  Dr. A .Kaleb Rajan, Director of Physical Education are putting their best efforts  to make the tourney a big success.

 

The entries should reach the Tournament Secretary, Karunya University, Karunya Nagar,   Coimbatore – 641 114 on  or before September 20, 2014.
