Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2012 is conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) for students seeking admission to Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani, Naturopathy & Yoga, Engineering, Technology and Architecture courses in professional educational institutions in Karnataka for the academic session 2012 – 2013.

Eligibility for KCET 2012 by KEA

The eligibility criterion is different for all the courses.

Eligibility for Medical & Dental Courses

  • You should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC or 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages with 50% marks in aggregate in PCB.
  • If you belong to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other backward classes, you should secure minimum 40% marks in aggregate in PCB.

Eligibility for Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani & Naturopathy & Yoga Courses  

  • You should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December, 2012.
  • You should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC or 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages with 50% marks in aggregate in PCB. 
  • If you belong to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other backward classes, you should secure minimum 40% marks in aggregate in PCB.

Eligibility for Engineering & Technology Courses

  • You should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC or 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry or Bio - Technology or Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages with 45% marks in aggregate in the optional subjects.
  • If you belong to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other backward classes, you should secure minimum 40% marks in aggregate in the optional subjects.

Eligibility for Architecture Courses

  • You should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC or 10+2 with Mathematics as a compulsory optional subject and obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in all subjects in 10+2.
  • If you belong to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other backward classes, you should secure minimum 45% marks in aggregate in aggregate in all subjects in 10+2.
  • You should appear in National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) and secure minimum 40% marks.

Application Procedure for KCET 2012 by KEA

  • You can obtain brochure and application form for KCET 2012 by KEA from schools and colleges where you are pursuing your Karnataka 2nd PUC or 10+2 by submitting a Demand Draft of Rs. 650/- to the Principal, drawn in favour of "The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore", pay able at Bangalore.
  • If you belong to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and category – 1, you have to submit a Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- to the Principal, drawn in favour of "The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore", pay able at Bangalore.
  • If you are residing outside Karnataka or completed your 10+2 out of Karnataka, you can obtain the brochure cum application form for KCET 2012 by KEA through speed post by sending a self-addressed cloth-lined envelope of size 25cm X 30cm along with a Demand Draft of Rs.750/- drawn in favour of "The Executive Director, Karnataka Examination Authority Bangalore", payable at Bangalore and Karnataka. 
  • If you are residing outside India, you can obtain the brochure cum application form for KCET 2012 by KEA through speed post by sending a Demand Draft for Rs. 5000/- drawn in favour of "The Executive Director, Karnataka Examination Authority Bangalore", payable at Bangalore and Karnataka along with a self-addressed envelope. You should write on envelop “Request for CET - 2012 brochure” in bold letters either in English or Kannada language only.

The brochure for KCET 2012 by KEA will be supplied to the school / colleges in Karnataka and also to the students, who are residing outside Karnataka on or after 22nd March, 2012.

 13th April, 2012

 Last Date for Submission of Demand Draft through Speed Post by Candidates outside Karnataka and India

 16th April, 2012

 Date of CET 2012 of Biology & Mathematics by KEA

 21st May, 2012

 Date of CET 2012 of Physics & Chemistry by KEA

 22nd May, 2012

 Date for Kannada Language Test 

 23rd May, 2012
