Journalism & Mass Comm Entrance Dates Clashing for DU & GGSIPU

Journalism aspirants this year are facing a tough time choosing the entrance exams to appear for. This is not at all a case of being spoilt for choice! The entrance exam dates of Journalism and Mass communication for Delhi University (DU) and Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), respectively are clashing.

Both the entrances have been scheduled for 27th May 2012. While DU starts its exam at 9.30am, GGSIPU has scheduled its Journalism and
Mass communication entrance exam at 10.30am.

Professors at DU claim that efforts are being made to negotiate on the dates to avoid any inconvenience to the students. “Both exams are on the same date and we are now trying to resolve the matter amicably between the two universities,” said Tarjeet Sabharwal, professor, Delhi College of Arts and Commerce.

However, GGSIPU seems to be divided in opinion on the matter, claiming that no such changes will take place. “We released our dates first and will not entertain any changes,” said GGSIPU spokesperson.

 
DU started conducting the Combined Journalism Entrance Test (C-JET) since 2011, when it was conducted by Maharaja Agrasen College. C-JET 2011 was held on 19th June 2011 for journalism courses offered in all five colleges of DU – Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, Kamla Nehru College, Kalindi College,  Maharaja Agrasen College and Lady Shri Ram College.
