In order to provide opportunities to teachers and others to receive training in science education, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore (JNCASR) has invited application for PG Diploma in Science Education (PGDSE) and PG Diploma in Material Science.
About Postgraduate Diploma in Science Education:
The course will be related to subject content, laboratory experiments, education technology and research experience. The training will be imparted through projects and formal courses. The programme is for two semesters beginning 1st August 2013. A stipend of Rs 1000 per month will be paid to those selected for the programme.
Eligibility to apply for PG Diploma in Science Education:
Applications are invited from teachers with B Sc/M Sc with or without B Ed as well as from individuals who have B Sc/M Sc qualification and interested in Science Education. In special cases, teachers working in the vicinity of Banaglore may be allowed to do PGDSE programme and in such cases, the course duration will be four semesters with a stipend of Rs 6000 per month. A Post graduate Diploma will be awarded on successful completion of the programme.

About Postgraduate Diploma in Material Science at JNCSAR:
Postgraduate Diploma in Material Science (PGDMS) is a two semester (one year) programme and is meant for students who have completed their M Sc. Teachers from colleges and universities with M Sc as the basic qualification can also apply. The training will be imparted through projects and formal courses. Stipend will be paid as per norms. Boarding and lodging will be available. A Postgraduate Diploma will be awarded on successful completion of the programme. Only limited number of candidates will be selected based on the recommendation of a selection committee.
