JEE Main Exam Pattern 2022 is designed by the exam conducting body, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). According to JEE Main exam pattern, the engineering entrance test will be an objective-type test. The total duration of the JEE Main exam will be of 3 hours (1 hour extra will be given to physically disabled applicants). JEE Main 2022 Exam Pattern: Paper I
- JEE Main Paper 1 will be held to grant admission to Bachelor or Technology (B. Tech) and Bachelor of Engineering (B. E.) programmes.
- The paper 1 of JEE Main 2022 will be carried out in offline as well as online mode i.e. in pen and paper mode and computer-based mode.
JEE Main 2022 Exam Pattern: Paper II
- JEE Main paper II will be conducted by the CBSE for admission to Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) and Bachelor of Planning (B. Planning) programmes.

- JEE Main 2022 paper I will consist of 90 questions from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
- All the questions in the question paper will carry equal weightage, meaning 30 questions from each section
- Each question will have 4 options to answer. The candidates will have to choose one correct answer. Each correct response will be awarded 4 marks.
- For each wrong response, 0.25 or 1 mark will be deducted (negative marking)
- No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions
- Candidates will be provided with a rough sheet for calculations at the centre. After the completion of the test, the candidates must submit the rough sheets to the invigilator in the examination hall.
