Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) is one of the most popular and toughest examinations for admissions into IIT’s, Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad and over 150 prestigious engineering colleges across the country. Dedication, consistency and hard work are the main prerequisites to emerge victorious in this competitive entrance exam.
The JEE (Main) offline will be conducted on April 4, 2015 whereas the online version will be conducted on April 10 and 11, 2015. Approximately, 13.3 lakh students are expected to appear for the JEE (Main) 2015 and only 1.5 lakh students from all categories will further qualify to appear for the JEE (Advanced).
Exam Pattern:
BE/BTech (Paper 1) – Total duration is of three hours and contains objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with equal weightage given to each subject. One fourth marks will be deducted in case of wrong answers.
BArch/BPlanning (Paper 2) – The duration will be of three hours and will comprise of three parts; Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing Test. While Mathematics and Aptitude Test will consist of objective questions, the drawing test will have questions to evaluate the drawing aptitude of an aspirant.
It is assumed that a serious candidate must’ve completed the entire syllabus by now. As the final countdown to JEE Main 2015 begins, the aspirant must be ideally revising what he/she has learnt till now. However, there are a few tips which can prove immensely helpful for students who are facing mild to severe anxiety regarding the competitive entrance exam. They are as follows;
Time Management – Time management is the key to score well! You should be ideally designing a time-table which includes revision of all three main subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. All these subjects should be given equal priority. Hence, divide these crucial remaining weeks keeping the three subjects in mind. Prepare a chapter-wise and topic-wise revision schedule so that you have full conviction to appear for the exam.
Punctuality – Arriving late could lead to an unhealthy start to your exam. Reaching late means you might have missed a few minutes of your valuable time. The stress to solve the question paper within the stipulated time might lead to lack of concentration and you might end up committing silly mistakes. And even the slightest of mistake in the final exam could tamper your dream to be in the prestigious engineering institute. Hence, punctuality should be followed strictly.
Focus on your goal – Your ultimate goal to crack the entrance exam should never deviate. Toppers divide their preparation time accordingly. They stick to a single mode of preparation and have faith in themselves. Thus, they gradually build up their confidence levels and gear up to solve any difficult question. They also make it a point to solve all previous years’ papers and keeping their concepts crystal clear. Sample papers give you a fair idea about the pattern of questions and help in time management and thorough revision.
To sum it up, focus on your weak areas and replenish your concepts. Take short breaks of 5-10 minutes between heavy and serious revision. It helps to maintain a balance state of mind. A little meditation can also be helpful.
