Industrial tour by Jaipuria Institute Management to Pratibha Syntex, Indore

An industrial tour was organized by Jaipuria Institute of Management on August 31, 2013. Students had visited Pratibha Syntex, one of the leading organizations in manufacturing yarn and related goods at Indore.

With the zeal and curiosity to learn about a textile industry students were excited to visit Pratibha Syntexone. Students were in the group of 20 from Batch 2013-15.

It was interesting to find that they have comprised their unit starting from cotton farming, yarn manufacturing, fabrics and finally garment produce. Students went to their one of the plants where 100% Bio Organic cotton yarn and fabrics are manufactured. Students had an opportunity to meet Mr. S K Chaudhary, CEO of the organization who controls manpower of around 1000 odd employees.

Students came to know about the Quality Policies of the organization which are-Maintaining customer relationship and satisfaction with best of quality, optimum utilization of resources and following set ethical and moral standards by visitors, workers and employees.

There Major Clients are- NIKE, ADIDAS, Walmart, Woolsworth Confro and Patagonia. They are major exporters of yarn to USA, Canada Mauritius, South Africa and China
The learning journey started with warehouse area where raw cotton fibres were stocked that were purchased from different parts of Indian states of different length and density.

In order to get optimum density and quality of yarn, process of blending and removing method was undertaken, followed by mixing, blowing, combing, carding, ring frame process and finally sent to yarn conditioning plant.

After the manufacturing of yarn knitting is involved which further converts it into fabrics and after its quality inspection, it is processed for dying where fabric is washed with chemicals and discoloured. The process further required transforming fabric into garments and finally printing and packaging.

Students were exposed in real understanding of the whole process and were finally instructed to give learning report to the Placement Committee.
