Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar Introduces New Master's Course

About the course:

The Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar (IIT – Gn) has introduced a master’s programme in Cognitive Science, to begin tentatively by July 2013. The institute’s spokesperson stated that only one Indian university is offering this course also adding that IIT Gn will be the first out of IITs to do so.

M.Sc in Cognitive Science will offer students from different backgrounds, the breadth of knowledge and research techniques in a variety of areas in cognitive science. The program also focuses on principles for designing effective systems to support individual, groups and organizations.

Eligibility Criteria:

Bachelor degree holder with a minimum of 55% (or 5.5 CGPA) marks for General/OBC category and at least 50% (or 5.0 CGPA) marks for SC/ST and PD category can apply for admission to this program.

Selection Procedure:

Admission to this program will be based on an entrance exam and an interview. IIT Gandhinagar will invite only a number of applicants for the written test and interview them based on their academic records and aptitude for CS (Cognitive Science). The selection procedure will be basis all of the above mentioned criteria.

How to apply:

Interested candidates should apply online. Sending a hard copy is not necessary. However, shortlisted students will need to carry hard copies of the application form with photograph and all the documentary evidence in original (testimonials, certificates, publications, work experience and research/professional experience) at the time of interview. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
