The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Mohali or NIPER Mohali in Punjab is India’s premiere institute offering courses in pharmaceutical sciences. In addition to the above, all candidates appearing for NIPER 2012 Ph. D programme should have:

• Minimum CGPA of 6.75 (or 60 marks) for General category, 6.25 (or 55% marks) for SC/ ST category, 5.75 (or 50% marks) for Physically Disabled candidates on a 10 point scale in the qualifying examination.
• Qualified GATE/ GPAT/ NET exam

Available seats include, institute / government / industry funded research fellowships. In addition, seats are also available for candidates with their own fellowships (NET-JRF; RGNF; Engineering and Technology etc.) from CSIR/UGC/ICMR/DBT etc.

Seats are also available for candidates sponsored by Public/Private Sector undertakings, Government Departments and Research and Development Organizations and for foreign nationals/self financing foreign nationals.

GPAT/GATE/NET is an essential qualification for all disciplines except for the following categories:

• Candidates holding M.V.Sc. / M.D. degree
