IIT Roorkee Hosts ‘Thomso’ with Great Pomp and Show

‘Thomso’ is the annual youth festival of Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee recognized as one of the greatest and the grandest youth festivals of India. Thomso encompasses in itself lavish history, splendid culture and a profoundly rich heritage of IIT Roorkee.

 

This time Sunidhi Chauhan and Nikhil D'souza had set the stage on fire by their musical tracks. Sunidhi featured on 23rd in ABN ground in Thomso while Nikhil D'souza enchanted all on October 22, 2022.

 

 

 

 

The previous editions of the festival have witnessed the likes of Raghu Dixit Project Farhan Akhtar, KK, Mohit Chauhan, Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Indian Ocean, Parikrama, Jal - The Band, Benea Reach and many more performing at the Pro-nites.

 

The theme of Thomso ’16 was ‘Song of the Wildflower’ as it revived the era of 70's. Fuelled by psychedelic music 70’s itself was like a dream, ingenuity and passion had taken the driver's seat. 

 

 

 

The fest took the name ‘Thomso’ in 1982 inspired by the founder and holds to it to this day. Recognizing this event of gargantuan proportions, the Government of Uttarakhand proclaimed Thomso as the ‘Annual Youth Festival of Uttarakhand’. Thomso embodies the spirit of life and gaiety, by living up to its expectations. We, the students of IIT Roorkee, thrive to attain perfection by making Thomso a brilliant masterpiece of grandeur and eminence. 

 

 

The fest plays host to the most strikingly talented scholars and academicians from all over the country, attracts media moguls and celebrates the divine congregation of culture and intellect. With a behemoth footfall of more than 30,000 students, comprising several IITs and NITs, Thomso becomes the abode of this ambrosial combination.
