IIT Kharagpur Introduces Integrated MSc-PhD Programme

IIT Kharagpur has collaborated with Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) to introduce an integrated MSc-PhD programme in chemical and molecular biology from the academic session 2022-17.

Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and IACS will jointly look after the new course details and guidelines.

Eligibility Criteria for Integrated MSc-PhD Programme in Chemical and Molecular Biology

• First division at 10 and 10+2 level
• Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Life science or Chemistry.
• 55% aggregate marks for General/OBC-NCL category candidates and 50% aggregate marks for SC/ST and PwD category candidates in the qualifying degree.
• For candidates with letter grades/CGPA, the candidate should secure at least 6.0 CGPA in 10 point scale.
• Proof of having passed the Qualifying Degree with the Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQ) as specified by the admitting institute should be submitted by September 30, 2022.

About Integrated MSc-PhD Programme

Aspirants need to apply for integrated MSc-PhD programme at IIT Kharagpur, which will decide the course details like examination pattern, grading, and schedule.

Students will be registered under the School of Bioscience at IIT Kharagpur and IIT Kharagpur will award students with the degree for MSc-PhD in Chemical and Molecular Biology.

IACS has already been running integrated MSc-PhD programme in Chemical Sciences for more than a decade now. With the recent deal with IIT Kharagpur, IACS plans to expand the programme in biological sciences.
