An QIP Short-Term Course on Role of Numerical Analysis in Scientific Computing will be organized by Dept. of Mathematic, Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. The course is open to teachers of Engineering Colleges approved by AICTE without any fee. Participants from Industry and Government organizations are eligible, provided they meet their T.A. and D.A., and pay a course fee of Rs. 4500/- and Rs. 2500/- respectively.
The payment is to be made by demand draft drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favor of IIT Guwahati, payable at Guwahati. Institutes guest house has been booked for the selected candidates for their lodging. The selected participants have to send a demand draft for Rs. 1000/- drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of QIP, IIT Guwahati, payable at Guwahati, as a caution deposit for confirmation of their participation. The caution-money will be returned back only if the participant joins the course. The objectives of this short term course are
• To provide preliminaries of numerical analysis
• To make aware of various techniques to solve different types of problems
• To introduce mathematical software like MATLAB, SCILAB, etc.
• Applications of numerical methods to other fields of Science and Engineering
Faculty members from IIT Guwahati and guest members from premier institutions will deliver their lectures on various topics related to the course.
