• A Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology in an apt discipline from a recognised institution or university (or an equivalent degree)
o For biotechnology specialisation – A Bachelor’s degree in engineering with biology or any related subject at 10+2 level or later, or a Master’s degree in science
o For computer science and engineering specialisation – A Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology or equivalent in an apt area, or M.Sc. in information technology/computer science, or IETE graduate in computer science and engineering, or MCA from a recognised institute
o For electronics and electrical engineering specialisation – A Bachelor’s degree in electronics or electrical engineering or equivalent, or IETE graduate in electronics and telecommunication engineering
• A valid GATE score in the area of specialisation – Candidates who have a B. Tech degree from an IIT with a minimum CPI of 7.0 may not need GATE scores to seek admission in M. Tech at IIT, Guwahati.
• Minimum CGPI of 6.5 or 60% marks or first class in the qualifying degree (relaxed by 0.5 CPI or 5% marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PD categories)

M. Tech 2022 GATE Score Cutoffs for IIT, Guwahati

• GATE scorecard: We advise candidates to get their GATE scorecards first that will be available from March 27, 2022. If any candidates have appeared in GATE 2022 or GATE 2015, then they do not need to worry about it. They would already have their original scorecards and valid scores to apply towards IIT Guwahati M. Tech admission.
• Coloured photo in .jpeg/.jpg/.gif format: Its dimensions should be 4.5cm x 3.5cm. The size of the photo should be between 15 KB and 80 KB.
• DOB certificate: If your date of birth is not mentioned in your 10th or 12th class certificate or mark sheet, then you should have a copy of DOB certificate ready.
• Pass certificate/consolidated mark sheet of the qualifying exam: A scanned copy of it (original/provisional) must be available. The size of this document should be between 15 KB and 100 KB. For candidates who have completed their degree, it is necessary to upload their consolidated mark sheet to avoid rejection or candidature cancellation. Those appearing in the final exam of the qualifying degree must upload their previous semesters’ mark sheets to avoid application rejection.
