With new changes all around, some welcome and some not. IIT has changed their pattern of admission. Only top 20 students who get the highest percentile in the Intermediate Public Exam (IPE) will be eligible for admission in one of the most prestigious engineering institutes of the country.
As per the new rule the marks of class XII will play a big and vital role in the admission procedures of IIT, which was not the case last year. A total of 1.5 lakh students appeared in JEE (Advanced), the entrance examination for admission into IIT, this year.
Minimum required percentile requires the student to achieve is:
General Category – 437/530 (Percentile – 79.63)
SC Category – 387/530 (Percentile – 79.607)
ST Category – 396/530 (Percentile – 79.55)
OBC Category – 428/530 (Percentile – 79.69)
Physically disabled – Percentile: 79.68
