IIT Bombay and Rachana Sansad Academy of Architecture to participate in the Solar Decathlon Europe

Team Shunya is a consortium of IIT Bombay and Rachana Sansad Academy of Architecture which is the first ever team from India to have been selected to participate in the international competition on energy-efficient and affordable housing: the Solar Decathlon Europe.

The Solar Decathlon competition was first organized in 2002 by the US Department of Energy and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in the USA. Since 2005, it has been held biennially every odd year.

Solar Decathlon Europe was launched in 2010 through an agreement between the US and Spanish governments, and is held biennially every even year, with over 2,20,000 visitors to the competition site over a period of 2 weeks.
