The CAT or Common Admission Test gives management aspirants a chance to score well and to study in a well-reputed B-School like the IIMs in India. But clearing this exam is not enough. There are many other factors that are considered when offering admission to students.
The admission process of IIM Trichy consists of candidates’ performance in CAT, Written Analysis Test (WAT), Personal Interview (PI), academic background and work experience.
IIM Trichy Post Graduate Programme in Management Eligibility Criteria 2022:
- Candidate must have Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognised university.
- A valid CAT score.
- Professional /managerial/ entrepreneurial experience.
IIM Trichy Post Graduate Programme in Management Selection Process 2022:
IIM-T uses a two-stage selection process to shortlist candidates. The criteria that is used in these two stages is defined below.
Stage 1: Shortlisting candidates for PI and WAT
In this stage, the institute uses the CAT percentile for short listing candidates for Writing Analysis Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). Table 1 shows the sectional cut-off needed to be considered for stage 2. It is important to note that it is not sufficient to achieve the cut-off percentile for CAT, sectional percentile is equally important.

Stage 2: Post WAT and PI
After the Writing Analysis Test and Personal Interview, composite scores are calculated for each candidate. Theses composite scores are formulated on the basis of table 2,where weightage is mentioned next to each component.

Final merit list is generated based on the composite scores of Table 2. Admission letters are sent to all the candidates after the generation of this list.
Final selection lies in the hands of the institute. The institute also reserves the right to change the criteria or the cut-off.
