IIM Bangalore Eligibility Criteria 2022 – The admission to the prestigious IIMs have begun with the commencement of registration process for Combined Aptitude Test or CAT 2022. Considered as a stepping stone to study in one of the IIMs, CAT examination has become one of the most anticipated entrance examinations. While there are 19 functional IIMs in India currently, IIM Bangalore has made a niche of its own.

IIM Bangalore Eligibility Criteria 2022:
- To secure an admission to IIM Bangalore, candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.
- For candidates applying from SC, ST or PWD category, a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA is required to be eligible.
- Candidates in their final year of graduation can apply for the course provisionally. They will be required to produce their graduation degree or marks sheet before IIMB once the results are announced.
IIM Bangalore Admission Process 2022:
The admission process of IIM Bangalore involves applicants being judged based on various parameters including past academic performance, CAT score, marks obtained in the personal interview and previous work experience.
IIMB, basically, follows two-phase selection process to admit students for PGP course.
- Shortlisting of candidates based on heir section-wise and aggregate percentile score in CAT exam.
- Evaluation of shortlisted students on their performance in Personal Interview (PI) and written note.
Phase I:
As part of the first phase, a percentile cut-off list is prepared. Applicants with greater raw scores in different sections of CAT exam are considered and thus, qualify for the Phase two. The first cut-off list of IIM Bangalore for admissions to the year 2015 is provided below.
A Pre-PI rank list is eventually prepared, taking into account a student’s CAT score, percentage in Class 10th & 12th, graduation, marks obtained in a professional course and work experience. The weightage associated with these parameters is : -

Phase II:*(Derived from each section i.e. 10 points for Quantitative Aptitude, 14 points for Verbal Reading & Comprehension and 16 points for Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning)
On preparation of pre-PI rank list, candidates are called for a personal interview. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to appear for Written Ability Test (WAT). They will also be required to present three confidential reference letters either from their faculty or employers.
Candidates who appeared for the interview will be judged on their performance in PI, the content & style used in WAT and on the basis of the refernce letters. The weightage attached to WAT score and interview is 10 and 30 points respectively.
The final aggregate score is calculated by adding all the points together and a merit list is prepared to offer admissions to the selected students.
