ICSSR sponsored Ten Days Research Methodology Programme For Ph.D. Scholars in Social Sciences

A ten day research methodology programme on social sciences is being conducted by the Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, Orissa. The programme is being sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research from June 1, 2015 to June 10, 2015.  

The ten day programme is organized for Ph.D scholars in social sciences. It aims to build knowledge of young researchers and scholars in the following areas:

• Conceptualization of research topic and developing conceptual framework of analysis
• Use of appropriate methodology
• Formulation of research proposal with respect to recent developments in methodology
• Formulation of appropriate research design and research questions
• Identification of factors of cause and effect through use of suitable statistical methods
• Implications of both Quantitative and Qualitative methods in social science research
• Knowledge on use of different statistical packages(SPSS)
• Use of Computers, Internet and Websites for academic search
• Field Work training
• Writing the final Research Report
• Publication of research papers in journal

How To Apply?

Apply on attached application format through proper channel (duly forwarded by the institution/employer/supervisor(s) of the concerned).

• Candidates will have to attach a brief CV (300 -400 words) recommended by their supervisor along with a passport size photograph duly affixed.

• Candidates will also have to provide 400-words write-up (Synopsis) on their research topic /area duly recommended by the supervisor.

• A Ph D registration certificate also needs to be attached with the application.

• Last date for receiving the applications is 30.04.2015. Selected candidates would be informed about the decision through email or mobile SMS by 10.05.2015.

• Only registered Ph D scholars are eligible to apply for the training programme

• The applicant has to register for the course after confirmation of his/her selection. The registration fee for participation is Rs. 500/- subject to payment during registration.

• In case employed, the selected candidate requires to produce relieving letter from his institution during registration.  Applications received after due date and not forwarded by appropriate authorities shall not be considered.  TA, Study materials, boarding and lodging shall be provided as per ICSSR guidelines.
