H.R. College's Inter-Collegiate Finance & Cultural Festival BLAZE is Back!

H.R. College of Commerce & Economics is one of the leading commerce and management colleges affiliated to the prestigious University of Mumbai. Today, there are over 7000 students in the college and each year the institution grows from strength to strength.

The students of H.R. College’s Investment Club are organizing Inter-Collegiate finance and cultural festival BLAZE for the third time in a row. It is one of the most reputed finance festivals in the city of Mumbai.

BLAZE 2014 is a two-day festival (24th & 25th January, 2014) that aims to integrate academics with industry experience and apply theoretical knowledge practically. This year, the college is expecting a footfall of over 1000 students from across 25 colleges of India.

The Inter Collegiate festival has a combination of events that have been put together to strike that perfect balance in catering to those students who have sound business acumen and also to the quick witted. This year the festival has been spun around a theme of “Changing Corporate Culture” where in the events incorporate different facets of new corporate life. It gives students a chance to explore their talents and enhance it to perfection.

There is something in it for everybody – the brainy, the creators, the innovators and the originators. With a theme of changing corporate culture this year, in a time where you need to know the ins and outs of the economy, come and join this festival - Business, Luck, Ambition, Zeal and Entrepreneurship, simply The BLAZE.

BULLSEYE

Bullseye – the Mock stock exchange is one of the major flagship events of HR ‘BLAZE’. The concept of a mock scenario of stock exchange first incorporated by the HRites brings to the Budding Investors an opportunity to portray their excellence with stock picking skills and an experience worth while.

So, if you think you’ve got it in you to be that one Savvy Investor who with his tact and presence of mind can play with the famous listed stocks then your Investment is just a click away. This event still promises to bring to all the easiest yet the trickiest stock exchange built at HR College which keeps getting bigger and better.

CEREBRUM TINGLER

Cerebrum Tingler is a multi round quiz of HR College’s BLAZE which will ensure that your hands are fixed on the buzzer and your ears alert to the questions with situations getting trickier by every trice. Participants are tested on their general, economic and financial awareness.
An event that does mess with your cerebrum in the true sense with bombarding questions all along the way till you surrender to defeat or success. A quiz that can go flipsides in a matter of seconds with the difficulty level increasing by every hurdle that you cross! Now is the time to test your knowledge and beat the best to be the best.

TREASURE HUNT

Treasure Hunt is a part of HR’s Festival BLAZE that is a chase to victory which has clues encoded with financial and economic facts. With a time span of just two hours participants are tested on their skills of decoding the places within vicinity with the lowest possible time.

A mysterious set of inklings thus leads you to something big, step by step. An event that speeds up your legs accelerates your presence of mind and guides you to the clues that wait to be unleashed. Here’s The Treasure Hunt of BLAZE that promises to be the real Chase to the victory with 20 teams and time slipping down your hands. So, make the most of it!

THE CEO

The CEO is the strategy development event conducted as a part of BLAZE. The CEO is an event to find those few people who think out of the box and have the business acumen that is very important to run a successful business empire.

The CEO is a highly competitive event where one impulsive decision could make the difference between the winning team and the rest. A business strategy simulation game, where the CEOs are given a budget and the team with the best financial position at the end of the financial years will be declared a winner. Success or Defeat all lies in the hands of the CEO. So, you either make it or break it!

GUILTY AS CHARGED

Are you guilty of a charge as great as the HARSHAD MEHTA SCAM???

Do you really think you can defend yourself better than what these legendary scamsters actually did? If you think you have it in you to be the next big Scamster after HARSHAD MEHTA OR KETAN PAREKH without getting jammed! Here’s your opportunity to prove so!

Mr. and Ms. BLAZE

Mr. And Ms. BLAZE is the corporate fashion show organized by the HR College as a part of BLAZE where two corporate celebrities are going to dazzle everyone with their persona, intellect, presence of mind and general awareness and are going to be crowned to fame. How well can one undergo stress is a key element put to test in this event via fiddly questions.

First impression is the last impression! So, here’s a chance to prove what you got. Here you not just show off your high heels and Savvy ties but also attest it to the rest that you indeed are better than the best and not just beauty without brains.

AGREE TO DISAGREE

One could agree with what one says. Or, one could disagree. But there are more than two routes to take in the debates in HR’s BLAZE!
You could take that road less travelled – well now travelled more and because of these very words – you could agree, “AGREE TO DISAGREE”. It’s that stand in a discussion where you take and make your own stand.

MADMEN

MADMEN brings out the creative side in you. The creative side to sell anything and everything, may it be a soap or a flying carpet, a detergent or a flying washing machine. So put on your thinking hats and capes to market anything and everything that comes your way like a MAD MAN! Sell everything or Sell Yourself!

ALLIANCE

Alliance is the business event under HR’s BLAZE that incorporates the concept of mergers and acquisitions.

The economy’s facing a sudden downturn and the only way to save your sinking ship is by merging! All your business mind asks you to do is earn more and more profits and the only way of doing so is a lucrative acquisition. How well you make it work is the biggest question! All you need is sound business acumen, a tactful mind, convincing communication skills and a power to influence through words.

So if you’ve got a sound business plan up your sleeve then establish it with ALLIANCE!

MONOPOLY

Monopoly is the strategic business game organized as a part of HR’s festival BLAZE. A thrill event that requires a blend of a good intuition, an intellect and drollness that leads to the making of a prompt decision maker.

Monopoly is all about making lucrative decisions to be the highest profit maker and the perfect dodger. A board game originally published by Parker Bros and re defined by HR College in the form of a life sized monopoly. So, if you dare to be a monopolist then take up the challenge and be the victor.
