Students who aspire to become pilots in India have to appear for various exams, which they must clear in order to obtain licenses to fly various aircrafts or be promoted to senior positions.

DGCA is the regulatory body that deals with all the matters related to civil aviation in India. The role and function of this department is to implement, control and supervise the country’s safety operations, crew training and airworthiness standards. DGCA conducts examinations for pilots, in order to grant flying licenses.

 

Online Application for Pilot License Examination

 

 

DGCA holds Pilot License Examination for both online (Computer based) & Technical (OMR Based) for all categories of Pilots – PPL (Private Pilot License) / CPL (Commercial Pilot License) / ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot Licence).

Candidates who wish to appear for the examination (General, Technical papers & Oral) are required to submit their application for roll number online under http://udaan.nic.in.

Before filling up the application, it is advised that candidates go through the Instructions / Guidelines published on DGCA web site (http://www.dgca.nic.in) and Udaan site (http://udaan.nic.in) carefully.

The instructions/guidelines have all the necessary details related to the requirements that need to be fulfilled by the applicant while applying. It has information on documents that need to go with application, revised fee, details / mode of fee payment, etc.

The signed printout of the filled application form, along with required documents should reach the following address by Speed / Registered Post within 10 days from the day of online submission of application.

The filled applications forms, if not received within the stipulated time, will not be processed for allotment of Roll Number and the status will neither be reflected in admitted list, nor be reflected in the rejected list.

Candidates will be allowed to appear for the examination, once these necessary formalities are completed.
