GPAT 2017: All You Need To Know

GPAT 2022, the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test, is a national level examination conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The exam is conducted to select the candidates for the allotment of admissions in the postgraduate courses under Pharmacy (M.Pharm).

GPAT 2022 Application Forms:

The GPAT 2022 registrations are now over. Aspirants had to register online for GPAT 2022 on the official website of AICTE. The registration process was divided into three sections: Registration, Form-filling and Payment of fee.

Candidates should have filled all the required fields in the application form very carefully. The application fee for GPAT 2022 can be paid online only, using a debit/credit card or internet banking. The application form fee for General Category candidates is INR 1400. For SC/ST/OBC category candidates, the application fee is INR 700.

GPAT 2022 Eligibility Criteria:

To appear for GPAT 2022, a candidate must be an Indian citizen and should have completed his/her Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy. Candidates who are appearing for the final year examination can also apply for GPAT 2022. There is no age limit to appear for the exam.

GPAT 2022 Important Dates:

GPAT 2022 is scheduled to be held in the third week of January 2022 at various centres across India. While the official notification related to all important dates is yet to be released, the following are the tentative dates for GPAT 2022.

GPAT 2022 will be a 3-hour computer-based exam that will be conducted in a single session.

GPAT 2022 Exam Pattern:

GPAT 2022 will be a computer-based online test which will be held at various centres across India. The total duration of the exam will be 180 minutes, i.e. 3 hours.

There will be 125 questions in the question paper, for a total of 500 marks. Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks and one mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. All the questions will be objective type and the candidate has to choose one of the four options.

GPAT 2022 Syllabus:

The GPAT 2022 exam will be mainly divided into four sections:

• Pharmaceutical Chemistry
• Pharmaceutics
• Pharmacognosy
• Pharmacology

Alkaloid Containing Drugs, Fibres, Sources of Drugs, Studies of Traditional Drugs, Volatile Oils etc. will be covered under Pharmacology.

Under Pharmaceutics, topics like Dosages Forms, designing & evaluation, Microbiology in Pharmacy, Physical Pharmacy, The Importance of unit operations in manufacturing etc. will be covered.

Some of the topics covered under Pharmaceutical Chemistry would be Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Physical Chemistry and its importance in pharmacy etc.

The topics under Pharmacognosy will be Basic Concepts of Pharmacotherapy, Fundamentals of general pharmacology, Immunopathophysiology and Pathophysiology of Common Diseases.

GPAT 2022 Admit Card:

GPAT 2022 Admit Cards will be available for download on the official website of AICTE from January 13, 2022.  The GPAT exam will be conducted on January 28, 2022, and January 29 is kept as a reserve day. The hall tickets for the same will be issued online only. To download the admit card, a candidate should follow the below-mentioned steps.

• Log on to the official AICTE website
• Enter the login details on the candidate login page link and enter the candidate dashboard/profile
• Locate the admit card download link and click on it
• Download and take a printout of the GPAT 2022 admit card

GPAT 2022 Result:

The GPAT 2022 result will be declared on the official website of GPAT. Candidates can download and keep a hard copy of the score card for use. Those who have completed their masters in Pharmacy and wish to seek a PhD course can use the GPAT result for admissions since it is valid beyond one year.

The merit list will be released on the official website after the GPAT 2022 result is declared. On the basis of this merit list, the candidates will be called for the counselling and admission process.
