The week-long 18th annual edition of Delhi Book fair began in the capital from September 1, 2012 and it will continue till September 9, 2012 with the theme ‘E-Books’ which will remain centre-stage during the event. The event has inaugurated by Lt. Governer Tejendra Khanna.
This 9-day book fair will host to 300 Publishers from Pakistan, China, US, UK, France and Germany. A total of 230 participants which is 20 less than last year, from across the globe are participating in this week-long fair organised by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO).
“The fair last year attracted around 3 lakh visitors and we expect an even better turnout this time.” said Rita Menon, Chairperson, ITPO. She also said “There will be a free shuttle service for all. Facility for a wheel chair with an attendant will also be made available for differently-abled persons.”
“Film adaptations of novels by select Indian authors will be a major crowd puller, claim the organisers. “Feature films based on novels written by Indian authors will be screened at the Shakuntalam Convention Centre. Five Hindi movies and four regional language movies will be screened” said Neeraj Gupta, Executive Director, ITPO.
