GATE 2017 Syllabus

GATE 2022 Syllabus – Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee is the organising body for GATE 2022. GATE 2022 is scheduled to be held on February 4-5 and February 11-12, 2022, across various centres in India. Candidates can fill the application form starting September 1, 2022, on the official website of GATE.

The GATE 2022 exam will be a computer based test. The duration of the examination is three hours and the paper will consist of a total of 65 questions summing up to a total of 100 marks. As per the GATE syllabus, all the 23 papers will have a section for General Aptitude questions, which will constitute 15% of the total marks. It will consist of two sections, Verbal Ability and Numerical Ability.

The Verbal Ability section will cover English grammar, verbal analogies, word groups, sentence completion, instructions, verbal deduction and critical reasoning. The Numerical Ability section will cover topics like numerical estimation, numerical computation, data interpretation and numerical reasoning.

For papers with codes AE, CE, BT, AG, CS, EC, CH, EE, ME, IN, MN, PE, MT, PI, TF and XE, there will be a section for Engineering Mathematics which will constitute 15% of the total marks. This section will cover topics like linear algebra, calculus, vector calculus, differential equations, probability statistics, numerical methods and discrete Mathematics. Apart from these core topics, there are some special topics under Engineering Mathematics, varying from subject to subject.
