Girls Lead All the Way- At Gargi College

A jaw-dropping campus, exhilarating weather and wonderful people- a pretty cool combo, isn’t it? 

Gargi College is one of those places where you will find students bubbling with energy. I walk towards the help desk, hoping to find someone who would spare a few minutes to answer my questions. I don’t really need to though. Despite having so many students thronging the three desks lined side-by-side, these third years sit coolly without getting worked up and respond with zeal, more than I have witnessed these past two weeks exploring DU.

What is it that sets this college apart? “It has the no. 1 cricket academy. There are courses for all the three streams. The fest-Reverie is always a grand affair. Talent is in abundance. Iris, Nazakat, Kshitij are a few of the great societies we have. Also, ours is among the seven colleges to have a choreography society”, says Radhika Aggarwal, the cultural secretary. “And not to forget- we have one of the best auditoriums!” adds Manika, a third year gladly leading the way towards the audi, which is indeed awesome!

From being four times University champions in Judo to having some of the greatest professors- Gargi has it all. Miss Universe India 2012 (and an Aquarian), Urvashi Rautela, hails from this college. Mithas, Hauz Khas village, SDA market, GK M-Block are some of the popular addas. “Oh! And you are missing out on a lot if you haven’t had the chicken momos in Gargi”, says Manika. Smiling ear to ear, we rush towards the canteen!
