Over 95 alumni had all assembled at immaculately maintained premises of the Leela, Mumbai to celebrate what they had in common: being part of the rich legacy of the oldest business school of the country.
Faculty of Management Studies, DU celebrated its Alumni Chapter Meet in Mumbai on May 17, 2014. Among the 95 alumni, the senior most was Mr. Virendra Srivastava of the 1970 batch, who has worked in the New India Assurance Company Limited and Mr Raman Kapur, who has worked in the Orbit Corporation Ltd.
The meet started with the screening of an audio-visual presentation that summarised the activities carried out on campus. The sights and sounds of the campus brought back fond memories, which the alumni gratefully expressed just after the session while providing valuable inputs on how subsequent meets could be better conducted. Delicious food and beverages were served after the session and the alumni had freewheeling discussions with the representatives of the present batch.
Ranging from handling life and death situations (literally) in the cable TV business to founding an HR consultancy firm and finding work life balance by discovering one’s true calling; the alumni recounted inspiring stories of their journey after graduating from FMS.
The enthusiastic participation from the alumni and the efforts of the present batch of students ensured that the meet was a resounding success. The diamond jubilee chapter meet would now travel to various other cities across the country and to two international destinations, heralding and celebrating the rich legacy of the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi.
