A prestigious trophy was conferred to the Animation Department of Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya in the category of Fastest Film Production Award recently. This was given for their creativity in the Image Creation 2013 Competition for making short Film, organized by TV- Giridoot (Film Production & Media House, Dehradun).
The award was presented by Governor of Uttarakhand, His Excellency Dr. Aziz Qureshi in the award ceremony on May 20, 2014 in the Governor house, Dehradun. Also present on the occasion was renowned Hindi Film Actor Shri. Tom Alter.
The topic of the film was Environment: Its solutions. The short film was being shot on the spot within given time frame and given location. Also it was edited in the given resources in short period of time.
A team of 9 members participated in the competition including 3 faculty members – Shri. Kapil kumar, Shri. Mukesh, Shri. Shishir, Shri. Sachindra (EMD) and students namely Venus, Shivani, Krishna, Laxman and Anand (3D animation and VFX courses).
The Centre of Animation and Visual effects is overwhelmed by this achievement and are planning for the future participation in more such competitions.
