In an attempt to address examination-related anxieties for students and parents, the Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the first phase (pre exam) of counselling, which will begin from February 1 and continue till April 13.
Besides CBSE, Snehi, an organisation for psycho-social support and mental health care, which has been helping students cope with exam anxiety and distress since 1999, has also announced their pre-exam helpline -Disha.
Students can call 9582208181 everyday from 2 pm to 7 pm from February 1 to March 3.
The helpline will be manned by a group of trained counsellors, psychologists and mental health professionals.
Students can dial toll free number 1800-11-7002 from any part of the country to get centralised access to the CBSE helpline. While the operators will answer general queries, students will be connected to principals or counsellors in case of exam-related anxiety or stress.
Students will also be provided tele-counselling through Interactive Voice Response System on BSNL number 12501022.
