English Drama Club (EDC) at BITS Pilani

For all you fresh 'junior-college' pass outs heading to the Pilani campus of Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), you've got only about a month before you dive into the churning waters of recruitments. No, we're obviously not talking about your dream job at Google or Merc already. Come the month of August and you Freshers will find yourselves being quizzed on little-known trivia or asked to enact scenes with whatever props you find at hand while you innocently stroll through one of the BITSian's favourite hangouts - SKY Lawns.

Well, let me get you started on some introductions. In my article, I'd stick to telling you about the English Drama Club (EDC).

As for the history of the club - there's enough evidence to suggest that it was one of the first ones to be set up here in Pilani. So effectively, it's been here for over thirty years. Although in recent years, possibly owing to the less aggressive marketing the club employs, it has not been producing as many semester plays as it would have liked to showcase. However, the club never compromises on the quality of script chosen for any performance.
