Energy Conservation Day Celebration at NIT, Jamshedpur

On December 14, 2013, the Electrical Engineering Department of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur will celebrate the Energy Conservation Day. An objective type test of 1 hour duration will be conducted for all the Under Graduate, Post Graduate & Research Students of the college.

Energy conservation means to reduce the quantity of energy that is used for different purposes. This practice may result in increase of financial capital, environmental value, national and personal security, and human comfort. Energy conservation differs from efficient energy use, which refers to using less energy for a constant service.

For example, driving less is an example of energy conservation. Driving the same amount with a higher mileage vehicle is an example of energy efficiency. Energy conservation and efficiency are both energy reduction techniques.

Awards and certificate of merit will be given for 1st, 2nd & 3rd position holders. Consolation prizes will also be distributed.

National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur (NIT Jamshedpur), is a public engineering institute located at Jamshedpur.

Established as a Regional Institute of Technology in 1960, it was later upgraded to National Institute of Technology (NIT) on December 27, 2002 with the status of a Deemed University. It is one of the 30 NITs in India, and as such is directly under the control of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
