St Stephen’s college has some good news for students hoping to get admission in Economics this year. The college has decided to re-appropriate the 100 seats left behind from BA and BSc programme in such a manner that economics will get 50 more seats.

The English department has also been allocated 30 more seats. The re-appropriation was necessary as under the new four-year system BA and BSc programmes have been done away with.
All students will take admission in a particular stream and can choose to either do a simple bachelor or a bachelor with honours in it. Stephen’s was left with 100 seats after doing away with the programme courses.
There were earlier some reports about the college reducing the total number of seats from 410 to 360 but the plan was dropped. “The college remains committed to meeting the educational aspirations of the youth of the country to benefit from this nationally cherished centre of excellence in higher education,” a statement issued by the college said.
Admissions at St Stephen’s College this year will be entirely online and will start on June 1. Students can apply till June 19, 4 pm. The cut-offs will be declared on June 21 and the interviews will begin on June 24.
