ECA & Sports Quota Radar: Kirori Mal College

Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi, is a prestigious North Campus College of the University of Delhi (DU). Various Colleges are accepting forms for Extra Curricular Activities Quota and Sports Quota. Read about them here. Today, I talk of Kirori Mal – The dream college of many.

The campus is very good, I won’t be exaggerating if I say it’s one of the best in North Campus. It was easily among the neatest DU colleges. It’s got a pretty wide range of courses, and accepts a wide range of extra-curricular activities for the ECA quota. The place was CROWDED when I entered. One of the cool things about that place was the conveniently located Photocopy shop near the gate.

Unlike the other colleges, the form filling process here was definitely the most organized. Yes, better than Hindu; better than Ramjas. There were decent signs showing where to go, proper queues for different forms and ABVP volunteers to help the applicants answering as many questions as they asked! Perhaps the only drawback was that I couldn’t find an indoor place to sit, but it was nice to interact with the numerous DU aspirants outdoors – some filling forms, some chatting, others on their phones. One such contender, Gunjan Rai, completed school in the latest batch from Bal Bharti Public School. A confident Gunjan was there to fill the ECA form for Vocal Music and Debate. She was happy with the whole form filling experience much like the numerous other applicants there. Sharing her excitement about applying, she said “I think Delhi University is a cool place. I’m getting to know more about this place. I’ve read about Delhi University a lot, but this is my first experience (visiting) here!”

The form itself is pretty standard. Attach self attested transcripts, stick the pic and you’re good to go. And the best part? Kamla Nagar, or KNagz, is right next door. So you can satiate all your cravings for Burgers, Dimsums, Brownies and Mocktails with just a brief walk! I’ll cover the place in a different blog. All in all, it’s an awesome college. No wonder there were so many students wanting to get in!
