EAMCET Counselling: 30,000 Seats Remain Vacant

EAMCET counselling is over but the controversy still remains. If sources are to be believed then as many as 30,000 seats have not been filled after the conclusion of the first phase of EAMCET web counselling in Telangana. Around 55,000 students filled forms for the counselling.

The counselling for EAMCET was on hold as some private engineering colleges filed a petition against Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad for cancelling the affiliation of about 174 colleges. However, the Hyderabad high court refused to put a stay on counselling procedure.

Only those colleges will be included in the counselling which are approved by the court, higher council and JNTU authorities. Separate counselling will be held for minority colleges under SW-II.

A total of 85,455 engineering seats are available for admissions at Telangana.
