‘E-Bike Racing Challenge-2015’ at LPU, Aligarh

An engineering students team from Mangalayatan University ‘Tenacious’ stood first in Virtual Round and Reaches the Final Round with its Rs 40K E-Bike

 

The ‘E-Bike Racing Challenge-2015’ was organized by Lovely Professional University, Aligarh on April 5, 2015, where student teams from across the country were participated.

 

A dedicated 18 member team of engineering students was working hard to give shape to an e-bike which could be ecofriendly and will cost under Rs 40,000. Their proposal to make this dream bike ranked first in ‘E-Bike Racing Challenge-2015’ and this honour bagged by Mangalayatan University. 

 

According to Col. (Dr.) Nagraj Mantha, Director, Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mangalayatan University, 20 teams from different engineering colleges participated in the Competition. Team Tenacious from Mangalayatan University scored 432.87 marks and ranked first in virtual round of the Competition. Final round will be held in Jalandhar on specifically made track to check technical and security competence of each bike.

 

While congratulating the team, Brig. (Dr.) Surjit Pabla, Vice-Chancellor, Mangalayatan University said that the event will lead to overall development of students in the field of manufacturing and design. ‘‘Electric bike is a machine for the future generation. The major benefit of the e-bike is its characteristic to be eco-friendly bringing a new revolution in the field of E-bikes,’’he added.

 

‘‘This is first such competition in India. Participating students can become aware about the next generation motorsport. We are privileged to see newer ideas coming from students. Extraordinary efforts by the team paved the way for Team Tenacious to reach the final. Now the team is focusing on final round’’, says Col.(Dr.) Mantha.

 

Responsibilities are divided among them for different assembling processes of e-bike. Abhishek Jain is leading the team and Shashwat Aman is Vice Captain. Shubham Srivastava is heading energy transmission, Himanshu Gangwar & Neetesh Gupta Steering and Kapil Jain is leading the team for suspension. Nikhil Bajaj, Kalpana Kumari, Mohit Jain, Deepak Gautam, Gajendra, Raja Kushwaha, Sudheer Kumar, Amit Tiwari, Vishal Jain, Vishok Tiwari, Giriraj Kishor and Sonveer Singh are other team members.
