DU College of the Day - Ramjas College

Ramjas College is a premier institution of the Delhi University situated in ‘North Campus’. It is one of the oldest colleges of the University. Rai Kedar Nath, the great Educationist and Philanthropist, founded it in the year 1917. The college has been a centre for discussion of national politics from the days of struggle for independence.

The College offers courses in Science, Arts and Commerce streams at the Under-graduate and Post-graduate level. Add-on courses and Language courses are also offered to the students.

The College focuses on the holistic education and therefore provides all the modern facilities to its students. It has a state of the art Library, Computer Labs and a hostel facility. A centre for international education and tie-ups with foreign universities make it a most sought after institution in the country. 

There is a large scope for extra-curricular activities as well. The theatre society SHUNYA, has won many prestigious awards for the college. Apart from this, QNIGHTS, the quizzing society has been adjudged as the best team in radio community quiz programme. So, there is ample number of societies to promote the hidden talent among students.

The students and alumni of the college are called ‘Ramjasites’. Some of its notable alumni include Prakash Jha (Filmmaker), Shekhar Suman (Actor), Manoj Bajpai (Actor), Somnath Bharti (Former Law Minister of Delhi) and Praveen Kumar (Documentary Filmmaker).
