The first phase of placements for the current academic year has kicked off at Delhi University’s Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC). While the average annual package for students at SRCC is expected to be Rs 6 lakh, the highest salary package is likely to be around Rs. 15 lakh.

According to officials at SRCC, the registration process for the placement session began in the second week of August 2014. About five to six companies have apparently visited the SRCC campus and 40 students have been successfully placed so far.

The alumni of SRCC plays a very important in job placements and careers. Many companies come back again for placements because they've been happy with the students they hired and they get them along to speak to the juniors regarding the work, the company and share their insights and experiences with them.

In this first placement session, SRCC students have bagged jobs in risk management and consulting, leading banks and some financial organisations.

In the 2013 placement session, several students from SRCC were placed at an annual package of Rs 15 lakh in India. This year, SRCC officials are hoping to place at least 450 students as compared to 325 students last year.

SRCC conducts its placement session thrice in a year. The first is carried out from August to September, second in December-January and April to May is the time for the final placement session.

A few years ago, the highest offer that a student received at SRCC was Rs 32 lakh. It was for an overseas job.
