The St. Stephen's College came out with its cut-off list on Tuesday, well before other Delhi University colleges. The cut-offs (for general category) were between 98% and 95%, not recording a surge from last year’s figures. Those who have made the cut will be intimated for interviews soon.

Applicants who meet the cut-off criteria will be required to sit for an interview and write an essay about themselves. This new feature will help the college know their candidates better.
The interview board would quiz candidates on the subject they have opted for.
The application process at the college is separate from that at the university. All aspirants are supposed to apply online only. Even those students who want to apply under the sports category and for hostel accommodation have to apply online.
The number of applications to the Delhi University has gone up this year and the St Stephen’s College is expected to see an increase in applicants.
The application process to the college includes two stages: registration and payment. A total of 34,650 applicants registered with the college this year. Of these, 23,400 have already paid. The payment process will continue till Tuesday.
The required marks for all courses, with the exception for economics for a humanities student, had increased last year. In philosophy, the increase in cut-offs was up to 5.5%. The average increase in all subjects had ranged from 0.5% to 1%.
Last year, 25,000 aspirants had applied to the St Stephen’s College — a number which is sure to increase this year. The largest number of applications has been received for the economics course.
Till 2012, the applications were for 10 courses. After the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) was introduced, the number of courses has come down to eight as the university has discontinued BA (programme) and BSc Physical Sciences (programme). The number of seats, however, remains the same.
