DTU to conduct a conference Technological Universities and Institution in New Knowledge Age

Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) in association with Delhi Technological University (DTU) is organizing the Technological Universities and Institution in New Knowledge in New Age: Future perspectives and action Plans from September 5-6, 2013.

The inaugural session titled “Technical Education Policy Framework” was addressed by Dr. Ashoka Chandra, Former Special Secretary (Technical Education), MHRD, Govt of India, Shri Pawan Agarwal, IAS, Adviser (Higher Education & Culture), Planning Commission, Govt. of India, Prof. Prem Vrat, Vice Chancellor, ITM University, Former Director, IIT Roorkee and Former VC, UPTU.

The second session of first day titled “Technical Education- Meeting Challenges of Future” was chaired by Prof P. B. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, DTU and Chairman, ISTE Delhi Section and the speakers included Shri Prakash Kumar, IAS (Retd.), Currently Director, Cisco Systems India Ltd., Former Secretary (Technical Education), Govt. of Delhi, Dr. K.L. Chopra, Former Director, IIT Kharagpur, Dr. R.K. Khandal, Vice chancellor, Gautam Buddha Technical University, U.P. the other two sessions were on “Technical Education in the New Millennium” and “New Vistas of Bio Technology Education and Research”.

The day two will include sessions on “Manufacturing Engineering Tomorrow”, “Emerging Challenges for Educational Systems in India and USA”, “Industrial Engineering and Enterprise Management”, “Power Engineering and New Energy Technologies”, and “Design Engineering and Innovation Ecosystem in Universities of tomorrow”.
