DRDO Recruitment through GATE 2022 - The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is a military agency of the Republic of India, established in the year 1958. DRDO comes under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defence, Government of India.

DRDO Recruitment through GATE 2022 is India's largest and the most diverse research organisation. It has over 52 laboratories which develop defence technologies of various sectors like naval systems, missiles, aeronautics, materials, life sciences, armaments, electronics and land combat engineering. It has over 5000 scientists who belong to the Defence Research and Development Service (DRDS) and close to 25,000 other technical, scientific and supporting personnel.

Eligibility Criteria for DRDO Recruitment through GATE 2022:

• Candidates who are a citizen of India are eligible to apply for DRDO.
• Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks. Similarly, a CGPA of 6.75 (on a scale of 10) will be considered equivalent to 60%, as per AICTE guidelines.
• Knowledge of languages like Chinese, Japanese, Russian, German or French is preferable, but not mandatory.
• Students who are in their final year and appearing for the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply, provided they submit their final mark sheet at the time of recruitment.

Age limit for DRDO Recruitment through GATE 2022:

• General category candidates: 28 years
• OBC category candidates: 31 years
• SC/ST category candidates: 33 years
• PWB category candidates: 33 years

Valid GATE Score for DRDO Recruitment through GATE 2022:

The scores of the candidates in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022 will be a determining factor in their selection. Aspirants who are interested in taking up a career in DRDO need to appear for the GATE 2022 exam in the relevant discipline. The candidates will not be able to apply for DRDO without a valid GATE 2022 score.

On the basis of the GATE score, candidates will then be qualified for the next selection round, the personal interview. This will assess a candidate's understanding of different facets, skills and attitude. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the GATE score and PI scores.

The cut-off of the GATE scores from selection to interviews for each category is given below (based on last year, and tentative):

• General Category – 875
• OBC – 824
• SC – 705
• ST - 578

Application Process for DRDO Recruitment through GATE 2022:

The application process comprises of two stages:

STAGE -I

Online registration for GATE- 2022 examination

GATE examination will be held online on February 4 and 5, and February 11 and 12, 2022. For detailed information, candidates must log on to www.rac.gov.in.

Once the candidate logs on to the website, they must start filling the application form. They are required to fill all the required details in the application form like Name of the Applicant, Parents’ or Guardian Name, Permanent Address, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, E-mail ID etc.
After this, the candidate is required to upload a scanned copy of a passport size photograph and all other required and relevant documents.

Once all the details are filled and all the relevant documents are uploaded, the candidate has to pay the application fee for the exam at the payment gateway.

STAGE - II

At the second stage, once the GATE 2022 admit cards are available, candidates should use the registration number to fill the online application form for DRDO. The DRDO application form will be available tentatively from March-April 2022.

• For General category candidates: INR 100
• For OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): INR 100
• For SC/ST/PWD/Women Candidates: No Fee

Salary Structure for DRDO Recruitment through GATE 2022:

Candidates will have a starting salary ranging between INR 15,600 to INR 39,100, along with grade pay of INR 5400. Total emoluments at the time of joining will sum up to approximately INR 60,000 per month at the present Delhi rate. This is likely to be revised as per the recommendations of the Seventh Central Pay Commission.
