Dr BR Ambedkar Open University’s M.Phil, Ph.D Admission Notification 2013

Dr BR Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) is inviting applications for admission into M.Phil and Ph.D Programmes in Development Studies for the academic year 2013-14. The Programmes are organised in collaboration with Centre for Economic and Social Studies (CESS), Hyderabad.

The Programmes are offered in the following subjects:

1. Commerce

2. Development Statistics

3. Economics

4. Geography

5. Political Science and Public Administration

6. Sociology

Eligibility

Candidates who wish to apply should have a Master’s degree with 55 percent marks (50 percent marks in case of SC/ST candidates) in the subject concerned or in any allied subject from a recognised university. Admission for M.Phil and Ph.D is based on the Entrance Test in one of the subjects listed above and an Interview.

Candidates qualified in UGC test or any other National-level test for JRF, M.Phil Degree holders from any recognised university and FIP (UGC) candidates may be exempted from the Entrance Test for Ph.D admission.

The entrance test will be conducted on 17th March, 2013

How to Apply

Application forms can be obtained from the office of the CESS on payment of Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) either in Cash or Demand  Draft drawn in favour of "Director, CESS" in any Nationalised bank from 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM during working days (Monday to Saturday).

The filled in application forms along with a registration fee (Rs. 500/- for directly obtained applications and Rs. 600/- for downloaded applications) by Cash or DD drawn in favour of  "Director, CESS" payable at Hyderabad should reach the  Coordinator (Research Programmes), Centre for Economic and Social Studies, Begumpet, Hyderabad - 500 016  on or before 5.00 PM on Friday, 22nd February 2013.
