The Institute of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is the national apex professional body of Electronics & Telecommunication and Computer & IT Professionals. Admission is through exams conducted by IETE, recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India for employment under the central government under appropriate posts. The three exams conducted for various courses at Graduate, Diploma and Post-Graduate level are: diploma level exam known as DIPETE/ DipETE, the graduate exam known as the AMIETE (degree level) and a post graduation level course known as Advanced Level Course in Computer Science (ALCCS).
After passing out of AMIETE and DIPETE, the student can work with the government or private agencies or choose to study further. Just like the AMIETE exams, DIPETE exams are held twice every year, once in June and then again in December. The notification for the AMIETE exam in June 2012 was out in February 2012, while the AIMETE exam December 2012 will be out sometime later in 2012.

- Minimum 14 years of age
- Class X pass or an equivalent exam with General Science subject and working in relevant field
- Pursuing higher education with Physics/ Maths/ ITI subjects
Accreditation of DipETE 2012/ DIPETE 2012
DipETE 2012 is recognized by the Government of India for subordinate posts and services and a number of jobs for the state governments and Union Territories.

- By post, with a duly attached Demand Draft (DD) with request for application form

Admission Procedure of DIPETE 2012/ DipETE 2012
Interested students have to undergo 3 screening tests - the first being a written test round, followed by a Group Discussion (GD) and then the final HR interview. Please note, only students who have passed the written exam will be called for the GD and students who make it through the GD, with be called for the final round of interview.
