Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Exam for admission in BDS and MBBS courses offered by different institutions across the country. The score of AIPMT is accepted in all the Government run medical institutes across the country except for the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. In every Government medical college, 15% of the total seats are reserved for the candidates who have qualified in the entrance exam. However, there are several private colleges and Universities that accepts the score of this exam as a deciding factor for admission on the basis of merit.
Eligibility criteria for appearing in the exam
- Candidates must have attained at least 17 years of age and not more than 25 years on or before December 31st of the year of admission for General students.
- 5 years age relaxation is provided to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC section as per the reservation rules
- Must have secured 50% marks in PCB i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Biology in their Class 12th boards or equivalent exam
- Candidates who will be appearing for 12th Board exam or equivalent exam in the year 2022can as well apply for the AIPMT 2022.
Since, this is an important exam for all the medical aspirants, proper preparation is very essential to get good score in the entrance exam. In addition, as this is a national level exam, it is not a piece of cake. Sample papers that include solved question papers of the previous years are available, which will help in better preparation of the exam. Pattern of AIPMT 2022 question paper
- It is a pen and paper test and the candidates are given question booklets that consist of 180 MCQs (multiple choice questions)
- The questions will be asked in both English and Hindi
- It will have questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology and Botany)
- There will be total 720 marks
- The questions will be based on the syllabus prescribed by different state boards and COBSE, NCERT as well as CBSE
- Every question will carry 4 marks and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
