Delhi University’s SRCC Celebrates 90th Anniversary

Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) celebrated 90 years of its existence in the presence of the Hon'ble President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 20th February, 2022.

SRCC started off in a small rented building in the Old City, back in the year 1926, and now the college is located in the North Campus of Delhi University. Recently, SRCC was awarded an A+ grade by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council).

The 90th anniversary celebrations were inaugurated by the President who addressed the gathering on this special occasion and talked about the significance of a realistic and practical approach to learning and life. He also highlighted, how for decades the institute has met all the requirements that are essential to meet the education standards as per the demands of a growing and emerging nation and economy, along with developing the professional skills and livelihood in economics and business areas.

The college welcomed the guests at the inauguration and remembered all the contributions that were made to the college by various stakeholders to further the college’s goals of excellence for 90 years. The vice chancellor of Delhi University congratulated and wished the college on the special occasion and encouraged the students to pursue their aims and goals with heart and strength.

Mr. Arun Jaitley, Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs, Eminent Alumnus and member, SRCC Governing Body, reminisced over his association with the college and how it changed his life. He also released a medallion to commemorate and mark this special occasion by presenting its first copy to President Pranab Mukherjee.

Among other distinguished guests present at the occassion were Vijay Goel, Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports, and an Eminent Alumnus, Justice Arjan K. Sikri, Supreme Court of India, & Member, SRCC Governing Body, Prof. Yogesh K. Tyagi, Vice Chancellor, University of Delhi, as also the host, Mr. Ajay S. Shriram, Chairman, SRCC Governing Body and Dr. R.P. Rustagi, Principal of the College.
