The University of Delhi has declared its fourth cut-off list for admission to various undergraduate courses for the current academic session.
Students aspiring to get admission in DU still have some hope as a number of colleges have announced a fourth list.
The drop in the cut-off is, however, not significant. Most of the courses have reduced the required marks by around 0.5 percentage points only.
According to DU’s fourth cut-off list, seats are still available in Commerce, Economics, Sociology, Chemistry and Botany courses at Hindu College.
Likewise, Hansraj College also has seats available in most of its popular courses.
“We have kept the commerce cut-off same (as it was in the third cut-off) but the required marks in accountancy have been brought down from 98 to 97.
We think this is going to help us fill our seats,” said Pradyumn Kumar, principal, Hindu College.
A few courses at Miranda House, Kamla Nehru College and Ramjas College also have seats available for admission.
However, a few colleges like Lady Shri Ram College for Women have closed admissions in all subjects, except history.
The fourth cut-off list has given a lot of students a reason to smile and hope of making it to DU.
“I had thought that most of the colleges would stop admissions after the third list. I am pleasantly surprised that the fourth list was declared and also by the fact that it has so many options, especially in the more popular courses,” said Mayank Negi, an applicant.
