St. Stephen’s College which is located in the north campus of Delhi University released its cut-off marks for admission to various academic courses in 2013. The average cut-off marks for all subjects have shot up by 0.5% to 1.0%, rising speculation that Delhi University colleges may follow suit.
Many are seeing the raise in the cut-off by St. Stephen’s as an indicator of higher cut-off’s by Delhi University in 2013. While some have refused to accept St. Stephen’s cut-off as a parameter for the upcoming cut-offs by DU, as they believe that this is not going to change anything.
“This year, all colleges will get applications for courses irrespective of the aspirants’ choice of college. Hence the data that we get is going to be a little skewed. In such a case, the St Stephen’s cut-off is a tool that can be a little helpful, especially to campus colleges,” said a principal on condition of anonymity.
Delhi University will release the first cut-off list on June 27, 2013 for various colleges. The last date of application of forms was June 19, 2013 and now students are waiting with bated breath to see if they have made it to the college of their choice or not. Delhi University, right now is in the process of compiling data received from offline and OMR (online) forms.
